Jeff has grabbed a hold of that prayer from the sweet book Wounded by Love, and the humility and hope of it is helping to shape and inspire his life.
Jeff grew up in a musical home, and is grateful for his awesome parents and four siblings. He met Patti in San Antonio, TX through a church/Young Life connection, and soon realized she was the ONE. They moved to Guatemala for a year a week after they got married in 2000, and have been on a great journey of full time ministry ever since. Their kids, Benjamin, Genevieve, and Cecilia raise the roof and rock their worlds.
He has been what few can claim - a part off all three major branches of Christendom - Catholic, Protestant, and (now) Eastern Orthodox. All have been positive experiences. This reality of East and West experience has and is shaping and molding him, giving him perspective and a deep desire to be a part of the dialogue - "What does God in Christ mean for the world, for your neighbor, your decisions, your dreams, your marriage, your fears...?" Through his music, teaching, and relationships, Jeff desires for people to go deeper with God, to more and more "taste and see that He is good" (Ps. 34:8)
Jeff has many years of worship and ministry leader experience, and has led, coached, and facilitated worship events and music times for years both internationally and all across the country. At the GMA Music in the Rockies competition, he won 1st place as a vocalist in 2004, and 2nd place with the worship song "Rich Enough" in 2006. "Leave" won a 1st place award at the Write About Jesus Conference. He spent a year in Nashville, developing as a singer/songwriter, and loving lots of time at the Nashville Rescue Mission. Sharing the healing and restoring of the love of Christ with many men there was a huge blessing for him.
Jeff currently services as resident worship leader and Programs Manager at the amazing Glen Eyrie Conference Center (www.gleneyrie.org) in Colorado Springs. He loves the mountains, his Orthodox Church (www.theophany.org - check out his Ortho story under "our church".), and watching "I Love Lucy" episodes with his family.

Dudes Are Moody...But Recover Quickly

So my buddy, Eric Jewett, and I pulled some serious daddy daycare yesterday, last night, and this morning for 10 little guys aged 6-9 (my boy Ben was 1 of them...and for the record, he did great). After a great hike at the Glen we did a camp-out in a massive tent in the Jewett's backyard. With tired bodies and a warm afternoon , we saw quite a bit of boy drama. Thank God, we were able to help and redirect, and they quickly got over ther issues ...until the next issue arose. Actually , it was very enjoyable...especially after the few guys who talked ...well, minorly freaked...in their sleep ("I have to gather the bones! What do I do!?!" were among the hollers that came in 20 minute increments until about 2 am).
Well, at least it was easy to come home to prep and presence for a GIRL PARTY FOR MY DAUGHTER GENEVIEVE this afternoon. Uh, I'm a little tired, but I love being a dad, and I love my kids!

Early in the morning, 12 days ago, my wife and kids drove off for TX...and they are still there (in San Antone), and I am still here...and it stinks, bad. But, I did call Patti today to tell her that I think it is a wonderful thing to deeply realize that, without any effort at all, I HUGELY miss her, and love her like crazy. Maybe not exactly "absence makes the heart grow fonder", but definitely "absence creates an environment for the mind to realize how the heart truly feels about someone, and to awaken to the depth of that love" (uh, not sure why I put that in quotes, but...)
Amazing BREATHE Worship Retreat
I'm just coming off an incredible few days of a worship retreat that I lead at the Glen, with the help of great worship leader friends from in town. The emphasis this year was SELAH--pausing (your over-full life) to praise, reflect , and listen. I didn't realize how much I personally needed the time and space. A special treat was having Christy and Nathan Nockels (formerly Watermark) join us for an intimate concert in the castle. I got to spend alot of time with them--fantastic people (uh, I think she's my favorite singer ). God did some deep restoration work in me and the people who came. Good stuff.

Patti and the kids are in TX (San Anton)...and I hear they are melting. Patti poetically said that walking outside into the humidity this morning was like walking into flan--all around you, everywhere, flan. Meanwhile, back in Co Springs, it is BEAUTIFUL, and a cool evening. This place is
pretty great. But I can't wait to go down to SA and see them all for the 4th weekend.

*A hand has 5 fingers, and my dad had to have immediate surgery today on his hand and some fingers, due to back side effects from his chemo treakments---may full healing come

My life and music is deeply affected by my growing AWAREness that God is good, and that God is with us, now, today, in this moment. Also, as I'm digging into the lives and stories of martyrs, monks, mothers and fathers of the Christian faith over the centuries, that AWAREness is deepening in me, and changing me. Their prayers and stories are a part of the lyrics and music I have written for my new CD, AWARE.
